What We Do

Stranded Abroad operates as a single point of contact for Indian families who have loved ones stranded or missing abroad. Our aim is to guide and support families through that often traumatic experience by offering information, guidance and access to a network of partners in the community service, legal and journalism sectors. We provide ongoing support to families until their matter is resolved.

To receive our services, the individual seeking assistance needs to be an Indian citizen or a family member of a stranded or missing person.

We offer all services at no cost. If you have a family member in the above situation and wish to talk to us, please seek assistance.

Stranded Abroad is unable to provide legal advice to stranded victims or family members.

Why We Do It

India has the largest population of people living abroad in the world,. No government machinery is large enough to cater to the needs of these large population and most of the times an Indian citizen in a crisis situation has no one to turn to but to their families and friends back home.

In most of the cases the families are helpless not knowing how to navigate alien legal jurisdictions and systems in order to seek justice for their loved ones. Stranded Abroad has the resources to help guide the victims families through the confusing and traumatic experience, given our knowledge and practical experience of the legal and practical issues of a stranded or a missing person.
